I know you don't want to spend an arm and a leg on the boat, but I can see two really good reasons as to why to try out the 6s1p setup.

    1. It'll shut everyone up here that thinks it can't and shouldn't be done.
    2. IF IT DOES WORK OUT YOU CAN HOLD BACK ON SAYING ANYTHING AND JUST SIMPLY SMOKE EVERYONE ON THE POND.

Personally I would do option # 2 as I want to get the most out of everything I have, and sometimes when no one can tell me how it will end up I do the experiment on it myself just to see the results or simply to prove them wrong. Might be the reason I'm putting a Feigao 6xl into a DF Vortex with an m545, hydra 240 (no bec), and 7s3p lipo....It may go but it'll be a hell of a ride and a great reason to do a writeup. Especially if it survives.
HK Genesis, DF Vortex, Baja 5T, Lazer ZX-5 sp, XXX, 8T, P51-D Mustang Shangrila, GP Giant P51-D Mustang, Blade 400 3D, with way too many more to list.

6XL in 7s3p with 545??? 70,000 rpm with a 545? I don't know if this is correct but you will certainly have some big-small smoke and charcoal there. Have you seen this one?

Referring to the Hydra's there was a thread in the past but can't find it with damaged ESCs and If I remember well most cases were Hydras 120 with 6s. I have not tried them though.

Hell i know the 1527s will push a much bigger prop but i need the rpms with out the amps ( i know i must be dreaming)
The 1527's are the motors you want on 6s.. Just give the CC 120 a shot on 6s for a short run.. You know because of the twins, it will be with in range on the amps,,, as long as the esc WILL handle 6s you should have one hell of a fast boat!

FYI,, i did look at your profile and build.. That is why I was giving you a hard time about the CC esc's,,, based on your building and other posts,, you looked to have NO EXPIRENCE with CC esc's...Which is the case.... I guess I am not as DUMB as I look! LOL

As for the "bum pal" comment,,,, I was in NO way looking for your friendship,, just wondering why you comment on things you have NO EXPIRENCE with?

That's what I was asking for, data. I would rather base my decisions ($$$) on experience that people have rather than opinions based on what others have said. I have yet to see a post where someone actually described their disastrous set up that lead to all this mumbo jumbo.

Please, post your set ups that lead to disaster.

            Mine was this:
DF 33, 4S2P, Feigao 10XL, CC120, X440 prop and 30 seconds. I ended up with a stinky boat and a little baggy with crusty boards and melted wires. Analysis: bad bearings in motor.
            NOTE: 4S, not 6S.

I think we all can learn a LOT more from each other when we share EXPERIENCE rather than hearsay (one of my pet peeves).

                before you go badmouthing CC

take a video of yourself taking a brand new hydra 120 out of the box and beating it to smitherines with a hammer
then put all the crumbled pieces back into the box then send it to cc with the video and they will give you a brand new esc for $105

show me another company that will do that

cc has the best customer service bar none

in esence they will give you back more than 50% of retail value on ANY esc they make
