Clean boats surface then scuff boats surface using Norton Gray 000 fine synthetic wool pads (Homedepot sells them). Prime surface using regular Krylon primer. Scuff primer using these same 000 fine pads. Then paint using Regular Krylon paint(Homedepot or Wlamart sell it). I always try to spray outdoors when the weather is good, no wind, low humidity, and plenty of light to see by.

Walmart, Homedepot, Ace Hardware, etc. sells this very common Krylon paint. If the surface is very smooth like most Gel coats all you need to do is clean the surface using denatured alcohal, then scuff, prime, then paint.

I just used primer, paint, and clear coat from my hardware store ( not RC brand stuff) and it worked well on my ABS hull.

Scuff color coat using Gray 000 pads before applying Krylon clear coat. The 000 pads work LOTS EASIER than sandpaper.

I have used it with good results. The red and white were done with Krylon Fusion.

Edit: I forgot to add that I used an automotive clear after the artwork and a bearier coat.

did the Fusion "need" a clear coat do you think? Krylon claims that it doesn't need a clear coat.

Alsa has a product but it is a bit costly for what you want as one spray bomb is about $40.00 usd.

No but the paint I used for the other artwork did. I also have to say that the clear did add quite a bit of depth to the overall paint job.

I am actually debating the same question right now and was tossing around the idea of using Mirrored Auto Tint as a windshield instead of chrome paint.
