    AMPS, how to figure them?

    What is a good rule of thumb when calculating AMPS in a theoretical setup?

    IMO none!
    experience and/or FEcalc software can help but not 100% accurate

      I agree with Emmanuel, at least mostly. If you charge your packs, time your run with a stopwatch, and then record how much of a charge your packs took in mAh after the run, you can calculate the average amps drawn over the entire run. This is not 100% accurate but is about as close as you can get without on-board monitoring. But of course this is of no use for a theoretical setup.
