I have a VUP that Doug Smock built for the IROC race late last year. Neu 1509 Y, Hydra 120, x440 (I think) running a pair of 2s 5000 mah in parallel. It is amazing. Nice and fast, good run times and stays planted - even at full speed.

I have never had a Vortex but I think RayDee does.

I also own a Vac-U-Pickle with a SV27 setup running 4s2p config. Never saw the Vortex run, but I can say the Pickle is a great performing hull and I highly recommend it.

      Have fun deciding

Yes, it is the stock ul-1 turnfin, with a fuller's bracket. I gets the job done!

Length is a little under 29" with hardware and width is like 13.5" at the sponsons. Never put a gps in one, but I can safely say in the 40's. Last 2 weeks we ran a couple of these boats at our pond with 15+mph winds and they ran fine.

The pickle is what I was looking at as a replacement hull for my UL-1. There is a waiting list...I have one of the cracker box boats from them and it's pretty cool...the pickle is pre-built for ya....let us know how you like it with the UL-1 gear.

is this for sport or racing. the pickle does seem like an awesome hull. heard lots of good on it. i built a vortex hydro. i can say first had that this thing rocks! maybe a lil small for racing. i ran on 4s with etti 150 esc and ammo 2600. x647/630 prop and was getting low 50's. it is super stable at that speed and handles awesome. ive seen guys pushing this little hydro over 60 mph. i never once had a blowover with mine.

what kind of water are you running on? will it take decent chop 1''-2"? I jsut saw you ran this boat with a X647, that's a HUGE prop for this little boat but i do love those 6 series props. How were your temps?
