those Etti coolers work well,i have 2.
Just smear some vaseline jelly on the orings when fitting,it also seals the can better.

Here's mine after one weekend it didn't even make it to the 1 min. to check temps. I was testing prop sizes. The cap fell off on one run temp was 110 on motor I put the cap back on. Then went up 2 sizes on the prop and this is what happened after 40 seconds. I hope they have good CS or there goes another $100.00

Wow. Looks like the thrust of the prop/shaft pushed the end cap off. Were you running a thrust bearing between the collet and motor?
That same thing happended to my ARC motor. Thrust bearing prevented it from happing on future runs.

No, I wasn't using a trust bearing. You think that is what caused the cap to come off?

I can say that we did not buy the Aveox line of motors.

A little history lesson is in order. I have been friends with Dave from Avoex for a long time. We did help each other with brushless motors and controller designs over several years. I designed one of the early sensored controllers for Aveox. The 1.5 inch diameter stator motor which seems to be the subject here was never produced by Aveox. It was a result of work that we did to try and improve efficiency of their 1.4 inch hobby design. As we all know the design worked out quite well.

When Aveox decided to exit the hobby business in favor of the aerospace world I decided to get into making hobby motors. We took the 1.5 inch stator that Aveox and I had developed and used it in our line of motors. 2 years ago the 1.5inch motor design underwent a major refinement which resulted in improved motor efficiency and lower cogging.

The main thing in outsourcing is QUALITY of parts that are used. Quality control is the key in picking the materials.

                                Mr. Neu,
Tnks for being honest with regard to materials and work to make your products. I think it clears up an misconceptions of neu motors.
As all can see it is almost impossible to make brushless motors today without involving countries from around the world, in order to make them in a price range the hobby can afford.
There should be room for competitors and medusa will find its place, I am sure of that.
