    N2 Mono Hulls

Thinking about the 2009 nats and would like to run n2 Mono. Seems the 27" limit is killing the availability of hull choices for N2 Mono hulls. The only choice seems to be the Delta Force. What else is out there that you guys are using?

    Steven,

The No-Step 2 is also a really good choice... VERY fast if tuned correctly. It's tough, however, to beat the Delta Force... especially at the price.

Another good one would be a Wild Thing in a 26-27" Length... Doug Twaits, Jr. ran one of these last year and it was a rocket! Have to hand-build that one, however...

I still have my 26" DH Mono, which I think would also be viable, but it needs some tweaking to the strakes to really be up the par... Mine is, as you might imagine, extensively modified...

Not sure what else it out there in that size.

Reed offered to make me a Wildthing, than he came up with the idea to cut down a Syncron. I asked Joseph at Toysport to cut down new hull for me. He agreed, so I took the plunge and now have a cut down version of the Syncron coming to me. 26.90".

Its been a couple of years since I raced competitively. Does anyone have any video of N2 Monos racing, so I can see what I'm going up against?

Also whats a good motor for N2. I was thinking 1512 or 1515 in the 4500kv range.

1515 0.5Y or 1515 1D ideally... I think the 1509 1.5D (4500KV???) works well too, but not as much "grunt"... You are right... something in the 4000-4500KV range... depends a little on the hull you are using...

Also don't worry about weight. I add an extra layer of 6oz carbon to the bottom of my DF and another layer of 6oz glass to the hatch. I also foam in the entire front end of the hull. Beefy hardware also, speedmaster 20 sized stuff for sure, mini rudder is fine.

My N2 mono is a stone, but it's fast and handles great.

About the classes you`re into, is there any place I can read about the different classes you have and also the rules?

Brian I have my DF25 foam filled to the hatch opening but found it was not enuff to float it . of course the only time the hatch came off it was a crash close to 80 mph plenty of 70 mph crashes no problem so it may not be an issue but I have addded some pool noodle
