    Huh?

Hi Jeff, thanks for the reply. I'm still not clear about how this is set up. Sorry to be a dumbass, but, can you post a couple of pics of what you have?
    I am retro fitting a Pro-boat Blackjack 26.
I bought a speed master strut, which came with a bushing. The bushing is a nice snug fit in the strut. With a piece of .250 brass tubing as the stuffing tube sliding in to the front of the strut, and surrounding the bushing. I put heat shrink on between the original stuffing tube and this new piece that fits in the strut, (leaving a small gap). I am planning to put a nylon/steel thrust washer in front of the drive dog between the drive dog and the rear of the strut. Is this not a good idea?
I built a couple of Dumas boats years ago, and this is what they recommended.
    Thanks for your help.
    Mike

I can try and shoot a pic. The speedmaster has different tolerances than the china stuff so the bushing fits better in the tube...my speedmaster strut has a larger shim of bigger brass to go in the nose but this is just to hold it in the strut nose. But mine does not run thru the strut...it has a bushing and it is not the stuffing tube running thru the strut...just the nose about 1/4" or less. I run 150 cable in it with 7/32 brass stuffing tube... which has 3/16" ID so that gives me good support with 150 cable...close but fine....no teflon.

No, you are not a dumb-a$$ for asking.
