Detounged my first prop. Am I in the ball park?

Rainy day in the Mid Atlantic today so I had a little free time and decided to give prop detounging a shot with a spare X640. Just wanted some input on whether or not I did a descent job. Did I take off enough? I'll be interested to see if there will be any performance increase in my Titan. Standard X640 is on the right.

You are in the ball park as a detongued prop is a bit subjective. It is best to remove some of the tongue and then test it - you can always remove more later. You need to sharpen and balance once this is done. But all in all it looks good.

Thanks Chuck. If I screw it up, I'll just buy another one and sent it to you.

Looks good so far... Test... think... them take a little more if you feel it needs it...

What would be the reason for doing this to a prop?

This part of the prop has a low pitch and by taking the tongue off you will get a bit more top speed.
