The metric system has nothing to do with language, it's a more accurate mathematical system. I'll stay my tongue...

The metric system is something that is more world wide but no better than the good old fractions. It is only a matter of time before we are all metricated. It really does make more sense but will be hard to learn for 90% of the U.S. pop. Maybe the younger ones will be easier and we should start there. good job on spelling MATHEMATICAL

how long is that boat? Width looks to be 12 inches and length in the 50 range.

yes sir! love it! the bigger the better. tops would be 22.2 or 2 3s in series I'm guessing but can you go any higher? It looks to have a single drive and what motor would produce the RPM and torque to get 100+ with that size boat? Excellent milestone I think but I could not imagine being able to turn my head that fast to watch it but I can hear and I'll bet it sounds sweet!

1 meter is 1/10,000,000 of the length from the Equator to North Pole, obvious more "reasonable" than to measure by somebody's FOOT.

Isn't there anything else to fight about ?!
Metric system is used by scientist worldwide, it is a fact that it's more precise then imperial...
the US has been using Imperial since the beginning and it's slowly changing over but for now, conversion tables are needed. There is no reason to fight over this as well.
If the measurements don't make sense to you, find a conversion able somewhere and learn... no need to keep asking people to convert for someone else.

...and stop figthing for nothing, getting used to a different unit system is not more difficult than learning a different language! open your mind

I wish to send my congratulations to him, Gerwin can you do that please ?

Guys. A fellow boater has just achieved an amazing feat and some want to pick holes in what measuring system is used where. I worked on American aircarft (Imperial) for 10 years but live in New Zealand (Metric). It is not so hard to grasp either system. Both have their merits. Outside of very high quality engineering both systems are fine trust me 1 thou " is very small.

Now back on topic, which in case anyone got lost in the mm/in mud, is about celebrating a very cool boat and its speed.
                          See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

upon further inspection, you're right. I see the one prop on the bottom of the photo so there must be another one. Eight screws to hold the hatch on, wow. Nice solar panels on the house, also.
