    total weight of boat

I have a Bandit Larsany 30 inch hydro that i run SAW with and it comes in at about 6.8 pounds with batterys. I always try and keep the weight down with my boats but is this considerd too heavy? It has gone 70mph and im very happy with it but i dont know if the weight could be holding it back or is it needed it to keep it on the water at those speeds. I know it will go 72-74mph. It has a 1521 1.5 D motor two 11.1 batts and a 240 hydra. Thanks
PT-45, 109mph, finally gave up after last bad crash
    H&M 1/8 Miss Bud 73 mph
    Chris Craft 16 mph

iam no expert but from what i have found, extra weight can be a good thing especialy when you are running fairly high speeds, i have a 25" mono that was around 4.6 pounds running a 4s 2p setup changed to 4s 1p setup and dropped just over a pound of weight, performance wise it may get out of the water a little quicker but top speed hasnt changed.
