    Roughly How Many AMPS

Just wondering if anyone could give me a rough estimation on the amount of amps I could expect to be drawning using this setup.
    7xl Fiegao, 2 x 7.4 6000mah in series, Etti 150 6-24v with Bec, and a Pranther S220 43.7mm x 2.6" pitch Prop. In a Delta Force 29.5 hull.
And seeing though I blew the capacitors off the ESC in about 4 minutes I'm guessing I've over propped so if anyone could suggest a prop aswell it would be appreciated.

    cheers Scott

Hard to tell, if the boat is running wet it could be much higher than expected. I ran a 7xl in my hydro on 4s with a 40mm prop and eagle tree said 100-120amps. I would bet running that setup in a mono would be more.

Yep, way too much prop, you were probably pulling over 150 amps. You'd be better off with an x438 or a 9XL. Like Ray said, how wet the boat runs has a huge effect on the amp draw - so does how you run it. Stay at full speed and the amp draw is less, do a lot of on and offs and the average draw zooms upward.

I run a 10XL in my Titan29 and on 4S and a GrimRacer 44x55 prop I blew a 200A Himodel in about a minute. I can only imagine what a 7XL would do - granted a tad smaller prop, but looooots o amps. Unfortunately I didn't log that run, but ReddyWatts calculated I was just over 200amps.

I have a 8XL under 4S with cheap chinese 100A ESC and 42mm carbon prop on my 29" copy, 97A peak!
But, you blew the cap and the ESC is still working fine? IMO nothing to do with over propped setup!

Just like to say cheers fella's for all the responses, opinions and information. I'll be definitely taking it all onboard. This world of brushless technology is all new to me, my last FE model was a 1/10 4WD Yokomo touring car (brushed) which with the right gear ratio used to pants my mate's nitro that he was forever tunning.
Anyway for those that were intrested she seemed to be riding nicely on the rear pad or quite dry. I believe that the COG was one of the few things I got close to spot on.
If I could ask another question at what speeds would this hull have to approach to require trim tabs?

            Cheers again Scott

Trim tabs will keep boat from flying over and make the boat tighter...a tad downward works best in my SV27. Strut angle needs to be level with hull bottom I think. I forget how to set COG.

Trim tabs make the boat more stable and can adjust the behaviour, nose up or down. If you are happy now with the boat's performance it is not necessary to use them.
I use them because without them there is rolling to the left or right.

I have noticed the roll you speak of and I would also like to keep the nose down at speed. Can I ask how far up from the center of the transom you would recommend placing the tabs

If the batteries that you used could not handle the amps, it can cause the caps to blow.

I place mine (and most that I've seen) in a position not too far out from the center but also outside from the prop. circle diameter, i.e. see where the prop. diameter ends and then place them slightly over that. If you look in various monos photos you will see what I mean.

Typically, trim tabs should cover the strakes on the bottom of the boat, sometimes centered but some part of the trim tabs should be aligned with the strakes.

I run a Delta Force 29.5..9XL...Sentilon HV 100amp..X442/X640...2 5000TP 25C in series. no problems in this sport setup..trim tabs, 2 fins and Fuller hardware.
I also note that the stuffing tube distance to the coupler looks too long. This may cause you problems. Also the turn fin angle in relation to the transom is way too high
