Thanks for posting. I also did run a 9XL on 4s1p with a 100A ESC, 445, max was 80 amps and 1100 watts (about) . Your setup is 4s2p?
Yours pulls more amps but also gives more watts. What connectors do you use?
maybe the higher amps and watts have to do with the ESC-Batts and configuration 1p or 2p/

this was 4S1P and I am using Deans with a TowerHobbies made series y connector. I weighed her prior at 5lb 5oz. Remember those were 4900 mah 20C Rhino packs. Oh, I also ran her pretty loose, dang she was a sight - too bad my camerawoman was busy otherwise I would have posted. What batteries were you running, what config?

        in the 40 mph club!

Ok, hit 42mph. here is datalogger and a video clip to see how she sits. I am pretty happy with her attitude, just need a bigger lake now...

        Hey, Camel, ready to race?

Ok, ran my 22" hydro, the Garry Finlay Atlas Van Lines (my avatar) and she clocked in at 41 mph with first setup. This is running 8L, CC Hydra, 1/16" wire drive (thanks Jeff) and spinning an X635 prop. First run was with Flightpower 3S, 4500 mah, 30C. Funny that a battery that cost about half I got spikes just a tad higher, notice in the third graph comparing Flightpower batt with 4900mah, 20C 3S Rhino pack. Any ideas? Didn't get a radar on the Rhino pack run, but was as fast! These Rhino packs RULE! Again, Jeff you got a bead on the good chit!

Keep in mind the second graph looks like it draws slower, but it is less time so slope is only apparent.

great info, I just picked up a logger, and have been pretty suprised with the data as well.

              See thread HERE.

To add to it I made another run last night testing if it was the Marine grease that I have been lubing the flex shaft with.

Cleaned the stuffing tube, lubed it all up with the usual marine grease, made a pass....max amp draw was right at 78. motor temp was right at 130, esc right at 120-130, battery cells right at 110-120

Pulled shaft cleaned tube, lubed shaft with a very light weight lithium grease, and used a small dab of marine grease right at the strut to prevent water intrusion. Ran again with identical type batteries, charged same technique. Motor temps were 150, ESC was 145, cells were 110-120 still. Amp draw was 96

Looking to try a fresh sv motor, or a ul-1 motor with a thrustbearing setup on it.
