    Batteries. Series or parallel?

Ok here is a somewhat dumb question I used to know the answer to. To increase run times with dual batteries you should place them in series, Correct? and the opposite would be true to increase power to the motor by placing them in parallel right? The reason I ask is because I want to add more run time to the the boat by jumping from 4900 Mah to 9800 Mah. Please inform me if I'm right or wrong on this subject.
    Thanx Sven Ehrich

The other way arround...in series increases the voltage...in parallel increases the amperage.

So currently with my 4900 2s 7.4v trakpower batteries in series, I'm actually running 11.1 v with 4900 Mah. right? which turns my battery config into a 4s?

By the way my Mamba max can take up to 3 cells. Does this mean I'm in danger of frying the Controller?

No, you are running 14.8v @4900 mah and yes 4S..... in parallel it would be 7.4v @ 9800mah 2S
Yes you will fry the ESC in series

That's what I thought. Maybe that's why I got 58 KPH out of the run. I'll need to run them in Parallel then to save the controller until I get the 240 Hydra. Wonder how much speed I'll loose running parallel batteries? Or will I loose any speed?
I'm going to run the batts in parallel to keep the controller safe but I'm running the stock prop right now. Is my Octura prop going to be too much for this batt setup?

The 240 hydra is a bit of overkill for your setup, unless you have other thoughts as for its useage. You will see a huge difference in speed running in parallel on the same setup

Blackjack-sven, you are asking many questions on all the forums, what are you trying to achieve with your hull and budget??

OK, here goes. I want to make the hull look unique by adding a total of three rudders. I want to get as much performance out of a 7 or 8xl motor by running Li-po batteries and cooling everything possible. And I'd like to get the boat turning well at around half speed of the 7-8xl motor.

I'm also the type to go overkill with all my upgrades so nothing will fail when beaten up a bit
