    Lipo storage?

What about storing lipos in a ammo box with some large vent holes drilled in? Bad idea? Safe?

Personally, I prefer something made from a non-conductive material.

I store mine in military surplus ammo box without any holes. I put tape on female bullet connector to be safe against short circuit in the box. If you are going to store them for a longer than few weeks, charge them to half charge and keep the box in air conditioned cool place. If you are brave enough, you can put them in the fridge (not freezer). I do that with my LiFePO4 batteries I used to use before i got into LiPos. Keeping Lithium based batteries half charged in cool place will greatly prolong their shelf life.

I tape the male connectors to the side of the pack, they are the ones most likely to short out; the females are already covered by shrink.....

I leave my wires dangling, as long as one of them is sealed. I seal off only female connector because putting tape on male leaves sticky tape residue on contact surface.
