no, 4s turns out to be over 27,000 RPM, that is plenty!
are things coming in cold, is that what you are saying
you are not running it hard enough? Try a bigger prop if so...

this is whan i am running 1521 1.5d 2 x 2s 5000mah packs ( 4s total) i have tried x440 x442 x445 x642 x645 v390 and am in the process of getting a lifting prop made, i can only get about 50 kph out of it, the maker claims he tested it at "high" speeds with a x440, i cant even get it on plane with that. i have do do a massive hand launch to get it on plane as it is? Some thing doesnt feel right....... nothing is getting hot, but saying that i have only been doing runs of less than 2 min.. i thought i might need to be in the 35,000 rpm range?

Hmm, something is not right there. We've got a 33" sport hydro running in our club with that motor (I think with an X448) and it looks to be well into the 90s (km/h that is!). That's with a 6,000 mAh pack, but you should still get plenty of power with the 5,000 pack.

Maybe your ESC needs recalibrating, or your transmitter settings need adjustment.

do you have another ESC that you can use for testing porpoises?
Are your batteries good? For sure?
There is something wrong for sure, I get a lot more speed outta my Viper II with the AQ motor and ESC then you are getting out of this powerful system.
Do the elimination process one by one with a 445 prop, this prop will be enough to get you going and not bad on the any system you can throw at it.
Which Software and Firmware are you using on the ESC?

i am useing the latest Ver of CC link might go with the other older version and try that. my batts i am almost certain are fine, they work perfectly on my BJ26 and have never ever been discharged below 3.5v and are always warmed. i might even try swapping my BJ26 power plant into it and see how that runs?

put the Hydra 240 on the other boat and see if there is any difference,
there is a possibility of the motor being mislabeled as well, but that's
harder to figure out... maybe if someone you know has the same motor(?).

You are definitely under propped. With the same motor and controller in my P-Mono, I run a 452 3-blade. I ran the boat Friday for 2 minutes, the controller was 98 degrees, motor was 90 degrees, batteries were 105 degrees. You should be running either V9 series, 17 series or 20 series props. If you know somebody who has a 648, I would borrow it and put that prop on.

Greg if I'm reading this post right, he is only running 30 mph with a x645. Something sounds way off. He should be into the 50mph range with that prop.

Greg, yes... there os room for bigger props but I think there is something else going on (like Steven says). With 27k RPM this guy should have a screamer... not very fast because of the smaller props, but it should completely unwind. The V9, 17 and 20 series are SAW props, they will do him no good in sport running... he'll get a lot of heat or lots of cavitation... a good size 4 or 6 series will be just fine for a fast reliable boat.

I know it sounds stupid, but are you sure you are running them in series, and not parallel?? Hey, it could happen.
