Is The Maus 32" Mono Still a Worthy Race Hull?

I have a nib one and have considered using it with my medusa 36x80 1600kv motor.
They of course, are no longer made. Could this epoxy hull compete today? I know in the 1998-2001 era they were very good fe monos.
Comments appreciated. Also if anyone knows the proper setup would appreciate you sending that to me.

Curt with no knowledge of the hull. I suggest it would, due to the heavy constuction. The early FE hulls were built lightly from respected manufacturers in order to be competitive. Today with modern FE power that eclipses nitro engines. it may be a winner.

thks for the input dougie. The hull held some speed records for fe in the late 1990's through 2001. It was also a nat'l champ according to some stuff I found from back then. Just wondered how much hulls for fe may have changed since then. It is very stream lined and has a low profile front to back. Bottom makeup is pretty typical for monos. Anyway maus went out of business about 2004 I think. I have had the hull for 3+ yrs. Bought it for 21 nitro use but have sold most of my nitro engines now.

        Curt,

Is this the same hull that is in the pictures in the link?? I've regretted selling that hull ever since I sold it... I can think of several applications under current FE rules where it would be a good fit...

With a 1600Kv motor, I would suggest 5s (18.5 v), propeller 42-45mm, around 100amps ESC minimum. The medusa has a lot of power.
You could try also 6s, 40-42mm prop. again around 100 amps ESC but very hot. Of course if you have a better ESC no problem. First start with the smaller prop.
