The slotless designs freewheel really well with the brake disabled on the ESC.

Lehner for example

The Toothed stator motors naturally have more braking effect and you have to be a bit more careful on decel.

German team: Joerg, Arnie, Gunnar... there is one more guy but I just cannot remember his name... someone may pitch in...
each one of them has a need in the team, Arnie and Gunnar work on the hulls and Joerg is the prop man and they all have their class to run...

After standing next to the driver when his rigger left the water at abouth 130 mph and flew 30 feet into the air (just because he gave it a touch of left rudder - no video of that run), then later watching the same boat hit the bank at over 140 mph and fly through the air (in video), I simply do not see a reason for trying for higher speeds in a public area. Legg Lake is surrounded by joggers during the SAW racing, and we could too easily kill one of them with a 12 lb boat at 140+ mph.

The JAGs team (Matthias is the 4th team member) has no plans to try for the NAMBA T record any time soon - as I was recently told by a team member.
