    Lehner or Neu

If money was no option what motor would you choose and why? I still find it intersting that Europeans choose Lehner and North Americans Neu for quality motors. I am strictly talking about quality and performance, not warrany issues, distributors etc.

    I have both...
I did not use my lehners yet, one is a 3060 honker and the other is a 1920,
the 3060 will go in a big cat and the 1920 is a N2 SAW motor...
I believe that they both (Lehner & NEU) have a niche as far as applications go,
but since you are asking which one I'd use, I wanna say NEU because I can
have same RPM, with more torque and in some cases (if not all) better efficiency.

Great question. The poles are important in what you are trying to achieve.

Here is the link that confirms that:

it's in German but look at the second bullet point and you'll understand the "2 pol" part of it.
this goes fro the 15,19 and 22 series... makes me wonder about the 30.

30 series are 2 pole as well...

I run both Lehner 3060 and Neu 2215 in big cats and personally prefer the Neu's... The Neu's are cheaper, made in USA, have more torque, and power to weight ratio is much better.. JMO

Should be getting a Neu 2230/1Y anyday.. I have been VERY pleased with the 2215's,, I cant wait to see what this BEAST will do!!

Interesting but why do the Europeans run Lehner? Remember cost does not enter into the equation or other values
