The water only froze for about a week here all winter so far but it had been really cold... Perfect running conditions for me. Now if I had somthing to run lol.
I stopped running the boats in August and started in January again. Now it is perfect with no people on the beach. Unfortunately we do not have any lakes nearby, only the Aegean sea.
LOL I got a little sunburn on my bald head as well. I guess I should have used some SPF30 to protect it....
Doby- as previously stated, feel free to ship the Cigarette Fleet on down to Louisiana and I'll gladly test those never been wet hulls for you.... Water Temps are around 70F so when ever you are ready.
That offer goes out to anyone else in the frozen water situation. I'll be glad to test your boat free of charge... LOL
There is a slight,,,very slight chance that the ponds may thaw by the weekend.
Usually its around the 1st or 2nd week of April, but its been fairly mild here and there is no snow left, just some ice. We are apparently going to get some above average temps for the next few days and by the weekend, sunny and around 40- 45 deg. If the waters open, I'll be out.
A buddy of mine was out fishing a bass tourney very early in the season last year and ran back in a cove in the mid 40 mph range and put his 21'Champion up and slid across the ice in it. Said it scared the crap out of him....could not control and it slid sideways. Another boat was running behind him and got stopped. They hooked a rope on the boat and slide it back off. Little prop damgae but nothing else.

How do you prepare your boats for salt water?
You live in a beautiful part of the world.
