G'day Bloke, great to see another Aussie here.

Gilchrist will hook you up with a BJ26, he also does a nice upgrade to an offset rudder and slight hull mods that make her really fly for around $80 i think, well worth looking into!
returning to boats after a big break

OK well I ended up getting a supervee 27. Reason being I had a few to many beers and called up the LHS sayin I could get one for $259 and why the hell was theirs 569?
After a drunken ramble they agreed to 259 and held one for me.
I picked it up and the shop assistant was amazed at my bartering skills haha.
when I gt home I realised it was 259 AMERICAN not aussie :)
Anyways the rear end leaks so I need to fix that but its awesome!

              Nice going Mike lol.
Search through the SV27 threads here, there's a few upgrades/mods that can be done to it.

OK so I got her all sealed up etc etc and took her out today. BLOODY HELL!!!!! This things is nuts!! It cavitates heaps before it gets up onto plane, then it just hammers! Its skipping at full noise, is this normal? I have bent the trim tabs down a touch to reduce the prop ride it had before, but I might bend em a little more.

I sealed her up with some sparkies tape, which was lucky cause I flipped and had to swim out to get it, it only took on a little bit of water through the antenna hole which was good but you can imagine I packed fudge and swam like sophie rice or whoever it is to grab it . It woud have looked funny some bloke floundering about after a bright orange boat ahaha

SO MUCH BETTER THAN A MINI V!!

You just need to now play with it and trim it out until you are happy with the ride. Obviously the more out of the water it runs the faster it will travel but more unstable it becomes and conversely trim it to be too wet (sit too low in the water) and it will slow down but be more stable. It's a matter of trial and error to get it to how you want it to run and suits your style.

Most of all just have a ball. There are a couple of extras you can get for the supervee that makes things easier to adjust or just run better like trim tabs and different props.

Yeah the stock trim tabs are pretty tough to bend without the stern coming off. Right now I want to run her wet, I think its nearly where I want it. I wasnt filling my pants so much when the batts started to run down :)
