DIY prop balancing and sharpening

Can anyone point in the right direction? I am looking for a nice DIY for sharpening and balancing a prop. I just grabbed one of those magnetic balancing stands, and have an octura x642 on the way. Just wanna make sure I do it right. Working with tools is not a problem, just wanna make sure I do it right.
