Hey my vote is the mean machine from Steven from Offshore Electrics right here in the USA!

Fine Design has alot of experience but seems to be stepping back from boats .... not sure of that though!

Do a search here in the forums and you'll find alot of info on different Mean Machine Builds. The first picture on OSE 's website is misleading it really is a great looking hull!

Two guys with a lot experience with this hull is Reddy Watts and Fluid and they will help your buddy to get it running right! 40's to start and beyond!
We did it with a Bang!

Steve @ OSE is the man! Honest and helpful. Like others have stated above, Mean Machine is excellent handling and sturdy cat hull good to 60mph. You can take turns at 40mph and it doesn't flip over like the narrower European cat hulls at high speeds. The price is reasonable too compared with the German hulls from H&M.

                Recommended Mean Machine Setup:

                Feigao 9XL, 4S2P LiPo, Hydra 120 ESC, Speedmaster HW, m545 prop = 50mph

                Neu 1515/1Y, 4S2P LiPo, Hydra 240 ESC, Speedmaster HW, m545 = 58mph
                Mean Machine Cat: 9XL, 4S2P, CC120, M545 (50mph) -- DF22 Hydro: 8L, 3S1P/4500, CC120, x637 (49mph) -- M-1 SuperCat: 1521/1Y, 6S2P, CC240, x447 (61mph) -- SV27 Mono: stock setup, 14-cell/4200, x642 (42mph) -- Micro Scat Cat: 28-3600, 3S1P/2100, Turnigy 60, x430 (41mph)

Look at the contact info here on the web site you are on...

I would go for the Mean Machine here at Offshore elecrtics....
Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!

As a bang for your buck, the Mean Machine is hard to beat. Jay Turner ( he is the cat expert ) wrote a very informed article in RCBM on setups for this hull.
