you really need 4s on 5s its pulling huge amps which is killing your esc,s
even if you get a esc to handle the amps your killing your motor it pulling way to many watts
if you kill the motor while running it there is a chance you will kill the esc as well.

yep just dl the FE Calc program very nice indeed!
looks like the 580L would run very nice with the y537/3 prop and pull less amps

        580L 2154KV
        5S1P- 5 amp
        36k rpm
        95.6 amps
        3 min run time
        est. speed 65 mph
        91% efficiency

looks like i only have to keep 145 watts cool!

looks much better than the x640 prop which runs much higher amps and less efficiency

ok the FE calc says 95 amps.... but when i put on the amp logger it runs 130 amps with this setup.... does FE have a section to input the size or weight of the boat?

You need to run 4S max and buy an Esc rated for 180amps minimum with that motor. You have gone through 3 esc's so far as they were not up to the demands you subjected them to. How long do you want to run, as your setup is SAW presently.

            Edit

Show us a print of your total run with your data logger

            Edit

FE calc is only an estimate at best

              So FE is wrong?
I only blew 2 ESC's so far prop was wrong, the other ESC is fine right now it doesn't even get hot 110 Degrees F, the batteries last about 4 minutes.. im just wondering why the FE calc says 95.6amps and i got 130+ on the logger and the boat only ran 52 mph not the estimated 65mph... the motor specs says it handles up to 8S...

when they say the 580 is good for 8s its they also give you a 50,000 rpm limit
which you dont want to go near.but if you ran a 6l on 8s your up around 64,000 rpm. to run 8s you would want a kv that will get you around 30,000
fe calc wont give you exact numbers and a lot depends on your setup
if setup wrong you will pull more amps etc.
the 130 amps your seeing are probably spikes not what your pulling constantly
                under load

A 580 8L or 9L may be better suited for 5S or 4S....lower amps and higher torque. It all depends on your run time and desired speed

so going to a smaller prop wont help? i just don't have any 4Slipos.. and i have 2 brand new 5S's . it runs great now. but i was just worried about the 130 amp reading. Does FE Calc take into consideration the weight or size of the boat? does it matter?

If you have two 5S, I would change the motor dependant on what you paid for the batteries. 25,000 to 29,000 rpm will give you a fast boat but not SAW speeds. Saw run times are about one minute and very hard on the wallet and equipment.

i'm getting about 4 minutes of run time, i don't want saw setup i want a fast sport boat so 3-4 minutes is cool for me

I run upwards of 36,000 rpm in my N2 sport hydro I have no problem with heat or burning up equipment just have to prop accordingly, and the boat is FAST!

thats what I recommended to you in a few posts back that and an x437! That y537 3 blade you used was.... ok but you add massive load with the extra blade. especially at that rpm your turning.

So far all the 3 blade props I have tested I have not been happy with them.

I just bought a Y536 it seems to give the most speed with the least amp load, it runs 50's now im very happy thanks guys!
