    You can make your boat faster by increasing the Angle Of Attack of your sponsons. Grimracer once stated that the Miss Vegas hull does not have enough AOA to go really fast. When he designed the UL-1 he used more AOA for less drag and faster speeds using electric power. How you increase AOA is up to you, but I glued 1/4" inch balsa wood to sponson's bottom then sanded to the correct angle using block and course sandpaper.

    Check this tread out...post #17. You can see how I added AOA on Rigger Insanity's sponsons using the balsa wood. Be careful not to add too much angle...boat will ride too loose. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8318552/tm.htm

        Here's a chart that will help your ESC live longer. For P Sport Hydro 30"-34" Heavy... Notice the battery/motor/esc/prop combo used.

          Well not that it matters any more but boat is trashed,lost radio contact for a few seconds and hit a very large rock. Left it stranded half in the water all night and got it back the next day. Brand new 240 trashed and electronics as well. BUT, it did find that moving the batteries alot more forward made the problems much worse so i think it needs alot more wieght in the rear. To late now. O-well. This could be the end of boating for me...this sucks!!

            don't give up Gary, send it in to be fixed, it's cheaper then buying a new one...
            OR
            get a cheaper ESC, there is plenty of stuff that will work just fine.
            :::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::

              What radio was that? Did you use any antenna or just the receiver wire in a tube?

              I am Really sorry, same thing has happened to me but luckily enough the boat stopped and just touched the rocks. Anyhow don't give up.

                Yeaaa...I cant quit...im in to deep. I was using a Hytec FM and as usual it starts glitching so im figuring mabe its the ESC this time because i had to keep rearming the system. Well i should have changed the reciever because although it armed right away with my spare Hydra 240 i lost comunication real fast and of course it heads for a rock....THE ONLY ROCK mind you in the middle of the lake. But i have learned alot and am sure that my balance is /was way off and needs to be heavy in the rear ..not up front. When i ballanced 1 inch past the sponsons it would dive off throttle and flip for no reason and was so much worse tring to excellerate than ever before so if im an ass and use a Vegas hull again {Dear God!!!} than i will move wieght way back. But i think i might try a Phill Thomas hull sport 20.....And a new radio system.She eats way to many recievers for no reason...other than it hates me1

                    Just make sure that you waterproof the receivers with some epoxy or acrylic coating.
                    The HM200a works with pistol radios but you need to watercool and waterproof which takes some time.

                        Were you using single or double conversion receivers? The latter are the only way to go, single conversion is just asking for a crash. You don't need to use epoxy to waterproof your receiver, CorrosionX works as well or better.

                        The real solution is to seal up the hull - difficult to do with the Vegas. Did you get the FE version of Phil's hull? That makes it a lot easier to keep the hull dry inside.

                        6S is really too luch for that small hull. I run that same motor in my 33" 4S sport hydro and can get close to 60 mph without trying hard. BTW, motor heat is not an accurate indication of power or speed potential. You want efficiency - waste heat does nothing to move your hydro forward.

                          I dont know how your doing it on 4 s . The best i can muster was 50 mph tops. I must be an idiot... And yes single conversion is what i use because i really dont know the diference between them. .......I bought epoxy but if you think corrosion x is better i will do it that way. NO MISTAKES ANYMORE !!!!! I have to do it right this time LOL

                            Like I said before...The Miss Vegas needs a little more AOA.

                              HI DETOX.....OK...On this AOA, If you look at the Miss Vegas sponson you will see it is pitched on an angle to the outside of each sponson where most hulls are totally flat.{less to the outside edge} Do you know what i mean? Whould i want to make this flat and correct it with more AOA or add more AOA and follow the boats natural angle? Its the only hull i have ever seen like this and it looks like they where trying to make it corner better in the turns by having this angle but im not sure.Its about a 2* change side to side per sponson. What do you think? Thanks
