    PRATHER PROPS are BACK!!!

I just heard from Jim Bickford, who talked to Ray Fuller, that HyPerformance Products Inc has purchased the Prather Prop name and line, and that these props will continue to be available! That's all the details I got, but it's great news to those of us who use these props!!

NOW we just need to get OSE to carry them!!! The 215, 220, 225,, 230, and 235 would be a perfect place to start! :D

Line was busy today over there. Finally got to talk to David. Props are on order. He figures they will be in full production swing by the end of the month.

Steven... I'm not sure if anyone has told you lately (yah right! ) but you TOTALLY ROCK!

Oh... and Stainless would be preferred! :D

Not by me. It is hard to work and polish compared to BeCu, especially for those newer to the hobby - Steve's principal demographic. Unless you're pushing 7+ hp it just isn't needed. I guess a choice is nice, but then this supposes that stainless will even be offered by the new owner.....

I disagree... But to each their own...

In my experience (I've probably prepped about 10 Prather Stainless props in the past two seasons...) The Prather Stainless props are MUCH easier to balance and sharpen, and are way less delicate to boot... they don't clog the file as much either... The are cast more precisely and therefore need less working in the first place, and tend to be more uniform in balance...

They also won't kill you when you don't protect your skin and lungs and eyes from the shavings/dust... like BeCu will...

However, something tells me if both are available, we'll have some kind of a choice, so I imagine we can all be happy...

I like the SS myself, lots of turtles in my pond and dinging up my BeCU props stinks.

how can you tell the dimensions of a prather prop?

                        i know octura's are X430 or 30mm diameter w/ 1.4xdiameter is the pitch..but how would you classify a prather?

                            Thanks for pointing that out!!!

I will be adding the specs when I have some time.
In the meantime the specs are at the bottom of this page.

Would the 215 draw to many amps for a sport setup. I am running a 9XL with 4s2p LiPos in the Syncron. What kind of amp draw could I expect?
