...And what experiences has everyone had with this.
Thanks.
Ben,
I am almost certain it is.
The one I have is ( was ) excactly the same in apperance but is neither a SS or Lightflight.
The programming instructions are identical and this would lead me to agree with ED that there are many names but all one ESC.
I took the finned alloy cooling plate off and used that on the esc on my Crawler.
I fabbed up a alloy water cooler that is about to be replaced with a low profile brass one.
I am happy with the esc and use it ( I have only 1) in five of my hulls on a 8S on 6 or 7 Nimh cells spinning 31-34 mm props.
It has a thermal shutoff.....that works and will reset after a few minutes relaxing on a chilled damp cloth. I do this so I can get it back on the water in the next hull.
It is NOT a reccomended practice.
See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood
Thanks for the input guys. I still have to figure out how to get the colored smoke when it goes. That way, I can explain at the pond that it's just an effect then, slip another ESC in while no one is looking! LOL
Smell? What smell? I don't know what you are talking about!
I'm not going to ask for suggestions for the specs of the perfume I should use and I know that's where you were headed!
I have seen some videos of nitro guys that run the colored smoke in the exhaust. Looks kinda cool, but still looks bad on the environment. Meanwhile, I recharge my batteries from an electric power source that I'm sure is a coal or nuclear plant. I'm not sure that's good either, LOL! I need a hydro generator and then the circle will be complete, or at least until I sink something.
Those escs are the suppos. I personally have not used them but have heard some
great things from buddies that run them. Bottom line you get what you pay for and in this
case what your getting is a a brushless esc. Plain and simple. I've heard that programming sucks.
