Fastest hull for 8XL on 3S

Any suggestions on the smallest lightest fastest hull that I can stuff a 8XL into running on 3S (which I have) with probably a X-Power 100A ESC ? I just bought a few 540XL's off a guy in Derry for a steal...
    Would a 8XL fit into a 22" DF Vortex Hydro? I see OSE suggests a 540L size...

I think the XL is too heavy for any hull below 29", maybe a DF 26" but not sure becaus eof the following, I have a 29" (DF copy) with a 8XL and it's perfect (just floating !), I ran it under 3S with a Mystery80A and now 4S with a Swang100A, it was really punchy under 3S but of course faster under 4S.
The Xpower is a good choice IMO.

lomdel, you could put it into a rigger at 25 or 26" since you mention you are looking for the smallest, lightest, fastest boat. Just a thought.

Here is a video of my Top Speed II 30in. tunnel with an 8xl on 3s and it ran 40mph on a radar gun. I'm sure it would work nicely in the VS1 and you would always have room to uprgade to 4s at a later date.

            Meniscus is right!
Steven sells http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...igged-insanity but to be the fastest as you required you need 4S!

I know the Osborn Rigged Insanity, but I must admit that I don't have the skill to build one PROPERLY from the kit. If anyone can sell me a assembled and base coat painted one with motor- and servo mounts as well as a hardware set installed, we can talk business...

Also take a look as some of the fiberglass German built riggers.

                    Any specific ones?

I was looking at the one Darin got from Brian as well.

Lomdel, an 8XL is a little too big for a DF22. Running 3S at 23,000rpm may not give you enough speed. Look for a setup that will yield over 27,000rpm.

If you're intent on using an 8XL, you really need to use 4S to get decent speed, but then you'll need an ESC with higher current rating than 100A or else you'll burn it. The least expensive fast performer is a 24in OSE Raider Hydro for the 8XL. Build it, learn from it, and ask the forum with any questions.

Raptor347's rigger looks very promising too and that's something I would be interested in as well...

Others have mentioned the H&M XsessII Evo Rigger and it is fantastic. Actually, I just received mine from Germany today. Contact Oliver Siess - very detailed responses and professional attitude. He speaks English too. <[email protected]> Andym and Xsessperated (Paddy) have run the H&M XsessII Evo in great detail - if I remember, they have run 65mph on an 8XL inside the XsessII Evo.

                          Good Luck!

I love the potential of the 24" OSE Raider Hydro. That one will surely be on top of my decision list as soon as Steve gets some whites one in stock. I'm just scared of the stuff tube and motor mount installation part. I know there has been threads on this, but doing it yourself seems daunting to me. You only get one chance at doing it right... (Steven, why not sell me one with the tube and mounts installed?) I'll fit the rest of the hardware, no problem.
I just stumbled upon some great new Zippy Flightmax 5000mah 4S 25/30C lipos over at HobbyCity in HK http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0mAh_4S1P_25C_ . Would have liked them with 10gauge wires though, not 12...
