    Purchasing Parts

Hi Guys, am i wrong for asking someone for pics of parts that i want to purchase from them?

Should i purchase the parts is the seller tells me he don?t send pics for privacy reasons? I don?t know him but was advised by someone on here in a PM to contact the seller.

It’s a scam. I get pm’s from people telling me to contact so-and-so to place an order. Don’t respond to those pm’s even if you posted in WTB section.

That’s exactly what’s been happening bro. They send me a Inbox and tell me contact a particular person and provide me with email information.

Classic Nigerian WTB ad scam that has been going on for many years. Same scam group responsible for all the Nigerian Price, Lottery, and romance scams, and they are watching any forum that has a classified section. There is no "them" as there is no real person with any parts! The entire point of the scam is to get you to send money for nothing more than a photo from the internet. They have hundreds of these scams actively running with a multitude of fake usernames, so when one gets banned they already have more still going. Always look at the join date, as most just joined within a couple days, so again red flags everywhere!

The newest tactic they are using doesn't even require for them to create an account, so you will never see them. They watch the classifieds and wait for someone to publicly post "I'll take it". Then they do a Google search of that person's username to see if they have foolishly posted their email or phone contacts anywhere in any forum (most have), then they spoof that number and start contacting the buyer posing as the real seller, and trick them into paying his scam PP account instead of the legit seller.

The buyer is oblivious that he is the reason he just got scammed, so they will blame the real seller as a scammer because they never got their stuff. The red flags should be blatantly obvious to anyone, but people still somehow fall for these obvious scams. Its not the 1960's any more, and there are bad players always watching any forum. They dont even have to create an account to do these scams because the members foolishly hand them the info they need to pull it off

NEVER post any personal info such as emails or phone numbers publicly on the internet, and NEVER respond to anyone that contacts you claiming to "know a guy" that just happens to have exactly what you are asking for.

A reputable seller should generally have no issue providing pictures to a potential buyer.
