Blazer Marine Whip P Sport 34?

I don?t race, but love building wood boats. This will be my first Whiplash build and I?m not sure what to power it with.
(I?ve taken a liking to Tenshock motors)

    Should I got 4s or 6s?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

you should go 4s because that is what it's made for. tenshock motors are for P limited class and would be silly to waste money on one for playing. The hull is for full P. I would go with a leopard 4074 2000kv with a raider 150A. Or a 4092 with a castle XLX2 if you want to to do high speed stuff.

If you dont race I have a prototype for sale.

The Tenshock motor I was looking at was the 40mm, not the 38mm can. I ordered the 34” whiplash not the 31”. Is the 34” whip meant for 4s? Thanks for your help!

The 34" is designed for fullP and the 31" is for P ltd.

            P is 4s. Q is 6s. Brian is working on a 6s Whiplash.

the whole point of the tenshock is that it can handle 3000w for the P limited class. making it a good motor just for P limited. Its not special or faster it just handles more heat/amps than a $50 motor. A $75 4082 or 4092 of any brand will do the same for half the price. But you are just playing around with it so a 4074 is more than plenty.

motors dont make power. Your battery makes all the power. The motor is just a fuse between the battery and the prop converting electrons to rotational energy. Efficiency is about the only discernible difference from one to the next. to make motors handle large amounts of watts you wind them with higher temp coated wire. That is all that is.

I didn’t bring up P limited. The Whip I bought isn’t for P limited. It’s for full P. I understand how electricity works, I wanted to get some opinions on setting up a full P, 34” Whip. Blazer suggests tp 4070 for the 34” Whip for full P which is the direction I’m going.

Tenshock makes a great motor; I own 4 of them. TP’s get hot, NEU’s aren’t what they used to be, and leopard’s don’t last and lack in power. The Tenshock I’m looking at isn’t the P-lim motor you’re referring to; it’s this one here: https://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pr...en-evo-2260-HP

I’ve run tp 4070’s in 1/8 scale hydros and Q riggers over the years and the quality just isn’t there anymore. The motor I linked is an excellent replacement for tp’s and NEU’s. I should have been more clear in the OP.

A few posts ago you didn't know what "full P" even meant.

during the development of this boat TP 4070's were used for 2 lap time trials. They would sometimes catch on fire and/or melt wires running them much longer than 30-40 seconds. Its too much and on the ragged edge for 4s to pump 4000+ watts out. Hence why Im saying to put a basic 4074-4092 leopard/SSS in it, run at 3000w and it will do mid 60's. which is about the hulls limit in racing conditions anyway.

                    I run P-limited dynamite/flycolor in mine at 60mph.

I would get the 34" version even for P limited. Lots of people run the same setup for both full P and P limited. See:

I ended up building mine P limited with the P lim tenshock motor. Lohring, how many milliamps do they run in P lim hydro? Thanks for your help!

Are you sure your qualified to give advice after the other post where you said it was ok to flip the prop around. Not trying to be mean or cause strife but that was bad advice in the other post.

there seems to be a high level of autism in the rc boat world.
