Bellows for stuffing tube for strut adjustmet

I have a Deep vee mono boat that has a Solid stuffing and 3/16 cable. The stuffing tube comes out and goes straight into a Single strut. Not a flooded stuffing tube design just basic pass through into the strut. This giving No angle adjustment with out bending the stuffing tube. Before converting to a stinger i had this thought as a try. Cutting the Stuffing tube after it exits the hull. 1/8 removed from the stuffing tube making a small gap and side on a silicone hose as a bellows allowing for a slight angle adjustment of the strut just as *!***!***!***!**s and giggles.
would this idea work as it was a thought that crossed my mind.
    thanks

yeah but the shaft can rub the tube. maybe try a step smaller brass tube (7/32) inside the hose to keep it open for the shaft.

You can try using a larger diameter brass stuffing tube so that you can install a teflon liner inside. Cut the brass tube flush with the outside of the hull and continue to run the teflon liner into the strut. The liner needs to be cut short enough so the solid propshaft doesn't stick into the end of the liner. In a setup like that, I've cut a small section of brass tub to act as a bushing/spacer between the strut and teflon liner if the internal diameter is too large, which helps support the liner and flex cable where it enters the strut.
