    TFL Integrated drive

    Hi all.
Have a problem with a New TFL Pursuit.
It has the Integrated drive in it and want to take out flex shaft to grease .
Problem is some bright spark put them deep into the stern and I can't get to the grub screws to release it.
So I'm hoping someone else has the same boat and has a trick to getting it out.
    Would be a great help.

Not sure what you mean by Integrated drive, looks normal to me. I could be wrong.

Looks brand new. Did they give you tools with it. In a pinch the Allen key/ wrench they come with should work. So you can't get to the set screws with an Allen wrench shaped like an "L" using the short end? Is the short end to tall? If it is to tall, shorten it. You can see the set screw so you should be able to get to it . Do you have a ball end Allen driver so you can try and get at it at an angle?

They put it together. So it will come apart . Stare at it for a little bit ,use a few swear words and go at it .

Sorry Ignore everything I said above. I don't have this boat. I just looked at the Manual for the boat What happens if you take apart the screws I've circled in the drawing attached and removing the prop and it's parts. You should be able to get to the flex. Granted the flex will still be attached to the motor.

      Hi thanks for your reply.
Photo is a bit deceiving as when you look down directly
over you can only see the two screws holding moter shaft
      to drive.
The Allen key that came with it to long so maybe have to cut like you say.
      to get it to fit.
Tried ball end and to much angle to get it to.

Hopefully someone that has the same boat and drive
      will help.
But slow progress to get them out it be pliers holding
short end Allen key trying to turn it.

Short 1/4" drive allen bit and a 1/4" wrench maybe? Cutting the key would be quick and easy as mentioned.

So you can't remove the circled screws and the Prop Spinner, prop and the drive dog.

Hi yes can remove all that just can't seem
to get to the prop saver and flex cable grub screws on the
            inside of hull.
Then I can remove flex cable and grease it.
I will try cutting Allen key and grab
short end with vice grips and see if I can get it
            that way..

Well after a bit of naughty words I finally got it out greased
              and back in.
I must say this system is not going to last long in here.
Will rip it out go the old school way I think in the end
You can see by photos how silly this set up is to
              get at.
Thanks to those who helped with tips

Maybe some tips how to set up new system.
This is my first big boat first fast boat

              Thanks again

Why didn't you use the short side of the allen wrench? You made this a lot harder than it had to be. If you put the short end into the set screw you would have more leverage also. I described this in my first post. In your pictures you're using the long end . Glad you got it though. Have fun !

Tried that it's to low in there and long end hits motor.
                  That was the only way.
But least have a plan now .haha
