    Battery Pack Sizing Help

I have nearly completed a Delta Force Vortex Hydro 24. It has Leopard 3650 motor 90 amp esc running a CNC Prop 42mm. I just am not sure how to size a battery pack for this boat. It's recommended that I use a 70c or better 4000mah 3s pack. After looking around on Amazon there must be over 100 3s packs listed.

I would appreciate a definitive answer to what I need and even better yet would be why I should pick this one in particular. The whole idea being that I learn how to make a decision based on what I learn from this venture.

Regards to all who answer my inquiry,

5000mAh is a very common pack size, but it really boils down to packaging and run duration. Are you trying to complete a 6 lap race? If so, the battery capacity has to be large enough to support your electronic drain for the full race distance. If it's just a sport boat for fun, battery dimensions and weight are sometimes the main concern, i.e. will it fit in the spot allotted, and if it does, is your center of gravity still in check. I don't have experience with that hull, so I can't make a recommendation based on my own experience, but hydro hulls should balance out at the rear of the front sponsons when full loaded.

With that said, SMC and CNHL (China Hobby Line) are some of the best Lipos out there at the moment with the CNHL's being pretty affordable too. If you're just looking for something good enough, the HRB 50C lipos on Amazon aren't the worst I've ever used and usually have cells that balance out pretty well.
