Suggestions for motor KV - TP 4070 series

    Hey Guys,

On my DF41 mono build, I am currently running a Tp4070 1520kv regular series motor (8s XLX2) and I am looking for suggestions on my next motor purchase. The boat is basically for straight line passes only, so I'm not worried about heat with 60 second run times. The 1520kv TP4070 runs cool enough for lapping if I need however I am looking for more power. I am looking at the CM series from TP but I can't decide on which KV to purchase.

I am obviously looking for more "power" and RPM for speed passes. Would the 1400kv CM motor outperform my 1520kv regular? Would the 1700kv CM motor be a better choice for 2 pass speed runs?

I know my 2080kv on 8s just doesn't have the sack, I've logged over 510amps with it.

The boat will be remaining on 8s unless Castle ever comes out with a higher voltage ESC.

    Thanks

    Ryan

motors dont make power, batteries do. motors handle the power. if its not hot then you dont need a new motor. just go up in prop pitch.

Thanks Bande1. Do you have any experience with the CM line? ARE they more powerful? I realize the KV's I mentioned will never take advantage of the 75k max RPM the CM's offer. However, you did make me order some new packs.
