The H&M Viper is a great performing streamlined hydro. The setup can get finicky after 50mph, take your time and experiment with COG, strut height/angle, rudder angle, and turn fin size/angle. Mount the strut 3/16" right of center line. Before purchasing LiPos, measure the height first to determine which size LiPo will fit along the sides of the motor. Use at minimum, 3300mAh/25-30C LiPo packs, capable of delivering at least 160amps to give yourself a safe margin.

To get into the 60mph+ range, I would recommend the following combination:

    Neu 1515/1Y (2200kv), 4S2P/6600/25C+, CC Hydra 240, m645

The 1515/1Y is a monster motor for this hull, but very versatile rpm range which you could also use for any boat between 27-30in. Others may recommend a 1512/2D or 1512/2.5D, but they are less efficient than a 1515. Furthermore, the weight of the 1515 is comparable to an XL motor.
    Mean Machine Cat: 9XL, 4S2P, CC120, M545 (50mph) -- DF22 Hydro: 8L, 3S1P/4500, CC120, x637 (49mph) -- M-1 SuperCat: 1521/1Y, 6S2P, CC240, x447 (61mph) -- SV27 Mono: stock setup, 14-cell/4200, x642 (42mph) -- Micro Scat Cat: 28-3600, 3S1P/2100, Turnigy 60, x430 (41mph)

I own the sister of that hull the "Viper II". It'll be an achievement if you get that hull to run stable at those speeds it is only 24" long and it has a lot of tunnel to compress air under.
you may need an air dam as well as the rest of the suggestions above and still, it'll be a feat.
BTW Charles, it's been rainy here, no fiberglass work has been done yet.

I agrees with the speed statement. I would think a bj motor and speedo combo would be great on 4S with a m545 prop. I am thinking 45mph for a on the edge ride around the track.

I have used that exact setup on mine and the thing hauls... I have to say I used it in a Dark Horse Shovel with better success, I GPS'd it at 62mph.
It had a 440 or a 442 prop on it. It's just for a couple of passes though, there is a lotta heat produced, too much for oval racing.

You wanna use the highest C rating you can get your hands on, that being said,
I'd suggest 30C or higher... if you cannot afford it then get 25C.
                A 4500+ capacity is a good start

                Etti 150 is plenty
