Not motor savvy But need a 3060 2050kv motor substitution*

    Substitute a 3660 2050kv with a 3674 motor and more

I'm getting ready to assemble a Delta Force Vortex Hydro 24: Bare Hull 24.4". OSE doesen't have any on hand right now so thought I'd try to approach it this way.

I've not done a bare hull till now so I have a few basic questions to help me get a nice boat out of my new endeaver. The 3660 motor is not available right now so thought I'd see if there's a suitable substitute for it like maybe the 3674 motor.

When I have a motor mount I was thinking that it would help me determine where the drive shaft should be mounted is my assumption correct? What would be the best way to assemble a driveline for this boat. There seems to be quite a few ways to accomplish this.

Should I use carbon fiber or fiberglass to reinforce the bottom of the boat and should I cover the transom while I'm doing this?

I also am needing a turn fin for this boat and I see there are some available for ready built boats that might work on this boat. Any suggestions?

Well that's enough for now. I appreciate any responces I may receive guys. I would really like to end up with a well constructed boat. These lessons will be applied to bigger and faster later. So I don't want to guess my way through this. There is so much great advise and learining to be had from this forum.

    Thanks to all,

    Lee

This is the very best: Select the 2050kv option.

I don't know that specific boat, or what you want to do with it, so I cant help with turn fin recommendations or whether you should reinforce it, but yes you need the motor, cooling jacket and mount (if you are using an off the shelf one) in hand before installing the driveshaft as the motor height will effect the shaft angle.

We all want something different from our boats, but personally for a 24" full bodied hydro I'd be more interested in stepping down to a 2860 than up to a 3674.

Thanks for this advise. I see that OSE now has the motor the motor they recommended so I ordered that. There are so many combinations that for a new guy it's very difficult to purchase just what I need to complete a particular boat. So thanks for your thoughts fellows.
