Stuffing tube / Flex cable length

Hey guys, putting together my DF41 and I am noticing to get the CG correct, it looks like I am going to end up with a stuffing tube about 5" long, and the cable will be about 9" OAL. I assume the shorter the better on both? Maybe I'm just used to the RTR boats with their long cables...

    Input is appreciated!

    Thanks

Cables only need to be as long as they have to be. Stuffing tube sometimes needs to be long enough to still maintain a smooth bend to transition from the transom to the motor shaft. As long as the tube doesn't introduce any bind or unnecessary friction to the cable, the length is fine.
