    Motor comparison

    ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS TEST?
    I TESTED 3 MOTORS 1ST SPEKTRUM 4068 1900KV 112 AMP DRAW 31500 RPM
    2ND AMAZON 4082 1900 KV 136 AMP DRAW 32600 RPM
    3RD TP 4082 1950 KV 150 AMP DRAW 33500 RPM
LOOKS LIKE THE SPEKTRUM IS THE MOST efficient MOTOR OF THE 3 ?????????????

Its not an apples to apples test, as there are too many variables. You ran the least RPM on the Spektrum which also has a smaller stator, so that is to be expected. The extra RPM on both of the other motors doesnt come for free. Even the KV is not all the same between them. Of course the motor with higher KV than the others, running the highest RPM is going to be doing more work and have the highest current draw

But the rpm increase is not much for the amount of amp draw

Everything would need to be identical for this data to be meaningful. Identical wind type, stator size/copper fill, KV, and RPM. You have none of that, so unfortunately you cannot come to any conclusion based on this test

With the same voltage the Spektrum kV is lower, less resistance with the propeller.

          First, remove the propeller.

the TP is by far the best motor

The tp is the best followed by the amazon and last is the spectrum.

The higher amp draw means the motor have less internal resistance and have the capacity to handle greater current. So the tp would be able to handle a little bigger of a prop because of the extra winding.

The amazon motor would be close to the tp if the kv was equal.

The spectrum is no competition for the other two.

What the spectrum motor gives over the other two is more run time.

If you setting up a boat for just sailing around and just want to enjoy yourself, not competing then the spectrum would be the better motor.

But for competition, circuit or saw the tp would be the better motor.

I just tested 11 motors a few days ago for kv and timing. The Firma marine 4068 1600kv motor got only 1493 kv on my Bm1 Analyser. not good at all.
