ML Boatworks 36 inch wild thing mono

Just ordered ml 36 in. wild thing mono. Planning on tp4070 1400kv recommendations on whether to run 6s or 8s and for esc and props to get in the mid 60s for running laps. Just running at local club.

    Thanks Troy

you can run that motor on 8s and use a 200amp esc ,for props you can use abc 1814-17 ,1915-17 or prather 230 and 235

you can run either or with that KV. 6s is generally a cheaper ESC. good props are the highly sought after ABC 17-45 series. a new batch came into OSE a few weeks ago but are mostly sold out now. You have to get them fast when they come in.

      6s prop - 48mm 1.7 pitch, 45mm 1.9 pitch, (prather S245, abc 1817)
      8s prop - 40mm 1.5 - 1.6 pitch (octura X640, prather S215, abc 1516/1515), 43mm 1.4 pitch; prather 220, X443, etc

start small on props and check temps. its hard to say what you need without knowing a few other factors such as batteries and drag efficiency of the hull, etc. One thing Im a fanboi of is the hyperion emeter2 system to see what wattage and amps you are pulling first and foremost. with actual data you can then get the right equipment and not do damage.

      they're $10....

6s for running laps, props in the 48-50mm range. What prop will depend on the hull and how it is set up. Frankly though you are putting a motor in that is bigger and heavier than you need. A 4060 is ample for size. You may find in a mono that higher kv and smaller prop will work better, less torque effect from the prop on the hull. I would consider around 1600kv and 45mm size props.

Peter I like the idea of the 4060. Thanks I think that's the way I'm going.
