    Flexishaft and carefull reverse

My programming box has just arrived and one of the "new" options is the ability to reverse. I know that reverse unwinds the flex

    but

if I set it up to use only 25% of the deliverable power, and have a 1 second lag between prop direction change, and be easy on the throttle, am I still playing with fire?

I pilot at sea and waves can be destructive as you approach the shore, a reverse function could save my expensive H&M hull from scuffs...

Thanks in advance for your time to read this...

one thing you may want to check is how many layer your flex has, I have some 4mm flex that are normally for speedo but these have 3 layers, the top one give the direction you are supposed to use it but the intermediary one is in the opposite direction so this give you the possibility to spin the wrong way, I guess at 25% it should work for short period of time.
My buddy has a 42" cat with 2x700 brushed spinning 51mm carbon props under 12 cells, we made couplers, between motor and rigid shaft, with a short piece of this flex, around 35mm long, one is spinning the wrong way and never failled, sure it short (can't unwind that much) and sure we are far from the power of only one Feigao540XL but the torque is pretty high though!

should be ok, I'd just keep an eye on it and check it out every so often.
