Just for a comparison. My ML GP310 runs a TP 4050 2100 kv, 4s 6000mah (that is our max allowed), OSE Raider 150, on a Dr Props 642/3 NAMBA prop. I'm not sure top speed but around 90-95 kph. I do come back with gas in the tank after a heat race, so it will perhaps go faster with more prop, I just don't need to.

Perhaps the TP 4050 2310 5D version. On a 45 x 1.5 pitch prop you would be pretty close to your goal.

Just a data point from my side.........I have the TP 4050 2310 KV motor mentioned above in a carbon TFL 36" mono using 4S packs, and get consistent 60 MPH (100 kph range) peak speeds on my GPS running a 1716 prop, so 43mm with 1.6 pitch. She does 80 mph/128kph on 6S packs in straight line SAW like runs on the same setup. I would think an outrigger would be even faster than my mono with the same power available.

My boat is also equipped with the Castle X8S mentioned above, and I converted it to water cooling myself with the StumpFab cooling plate which is not hard to do for an average modeler with basic tools and skill. I kept shutting down my Seaking (Hobbywing) 180, but in all fairness HW ESCs are known to easily shut down due to over current. I had the same issue using HW on my helicopters, plus I wanted the logging capability of the Castle.

So far its been very tolerant of anything I throw at it, with up to 386A momentary spikes when running on 6S and no shutdowns at all.

That's a great looking setup. I like your motor and ESC setup. Think I'll be using that. Thanks

Thanks! Just a note, my motor is the D wind variant, and D winds do not like advanced timing or things can get really hot for no real performance gains. In my case the motor and ESC itself would have temps in line where they should be for the setup, however the motor wires, ESC capacitors and battery to ESC plug despite being big 8mm connectors would get scorching hot over 200F.

That's what the little water cooled ally tube you see in the pics through the motor wire loops was for, however I initially missed the fact that there is a lower timing setting on the Castle ESC than I was running which I initially thought was the lowest. There is a low timing setting and then another choice of "lowest" which I am now running, and it dropped the temps in the wires and caps down into the 160F range along with the rest of the electronics after running in the warmer Summer temps

I noticed this exact same timing behavior on my twin Miss Geico which also use D wind motors. The Seaking 180 ESC caps and motor wires were scorching hot after every run, but I used the program box to drop the timing from the default 7.5 down to the lowest setting which changed nothing performance wise on the boat, but dropped the wire and cap temps down considerably.

I'm guessing there is a gadget to lower the timing?

Yes, its called a Castle Link for the Castle ESCs. It's a little dongle that connects to a standard USB cable so you can manipulate the ESC settings though the Castle Link software. There is a code in all new Castle ESC packaging, and they will mail you a free Castle Link once you order using that code, or they are also available for purchase.

You can download the Castle Link software and explore it in demo mode if you wish to see what settings are available to you. The ESC being discussed here is called the Mamba Monster X8S, and its in the demo list within the software. You can also redeem the Castle Link coupon code on this page as well. https://home.castlecreations.com/download-castle-link
