After seeing that video, I was thinking about running this setup in a 34", M1 Supercat. Is this setup over the edge?

This is what FE calc shows for the 14XL - Y535 prop.

            8S2P or 28 IB3600 cells
            1680 watts, 50 amps, 56.76 MPH

            or 26 IB3600 cells
            1400 watts, 45 amps, 53.51 MPH

            or 24 IB3600 cells
            1150 watts, 40 amps, 50.42 MPH

8S is a lot for a direct drive XL motor. It can and has been done, but I believe you'd be happier with a slightly milder setup. Geared that would be on the okay side, but the motor is really too small for that much voltage. That hull rocks on a geared XL and 18 cells - but a direct drive XL would work very well on 6S too. A 12 or 13XL on 6S would allow a larger prop for better efficiency. A 36mm prop is pretty small for a boat that size.
