    Floating Strut

I’ve searched the forums with no luck; I remember seeing a couple threads that detail how to make a floating strut for a mono, but I can’t find them.

If anyone has a link or can point me in the right direction I’d be grateful. Thanks!

Peter, yes. I found a few more imbedded posts on the subject, but no instruction. Jesse J, I thought, started a thread on the subject but not sure.

I did it also on my Cyberstorm with a stinger.

It is a little hard to see. However you basically glue in a tube through the transom that allows vertical movement of the stuffing tube. The inside end needs to be sealed, I usually make an aluminium cap with a hole for the stuffing tube and glue it all together when lined up.

Seems easy enough. I wanted to know how to seal off the end so water doesn’t get in. Just as simple as an end cap. I didn’t know you could also do it with a stinger. That’s a great idea.
                Thanks Peter!

Here?s a few pics from my Twincraft conversion I did awhile back, it?s a 2230 on 10s. I used carbon fibre for the tube and end cap.

Do you prefer the flood tube to a stinger?

I primarily run hydro?s so I?m more used to struts and I wasn?t sure how much adjustment I would need on the boat. Plus it was something new to try [emoji3]
