I would like to know what prop finish folk's like and why. I have read a lot of posts on the subject but I have not seen any data to back up folks statements. From polished to original finish to who knows what? I understand that quite a bit of this is due to personal preference but when folks say this or that is how it should be I personally would like some kind of data to back it up. For example if prop " A " is polished and has a given speed and prop "B" has an eggshell finish and a different speed and the only difference is the texture and all the other variables are the same why has the data not been quantified over time. I know that basically there are 3 types of finish - eggshell, smooth, and polished ... but there are very many variations in between. Also there are variations between the front and back - for example eggshell on the face and smooth on the back. I may have to get a bit more involved and provide some data although it may not be a controlled environment it would be a move in a positive direction.

Finished Propeller:
We recommend a satin finish on the prop. A super shiny prop can cavatate more than a brushed satin finish. A satin finish can also help your boat accelerate out of a turn faster.
Using a scratch pad, buff the entire prop down until all the shine is off the blades. Be careful as you are now working with a very sharp propeller.
