    JAE 26FE ....twin?

    Team,
I had a crazy idea: JAE 26FE Twin.
Same sponsons, and profile, but with a tub 2x wider.
I would get a kit, and remake the top, bottom, and bulkheads to be 2x as wide.
That would give enough room for 2 3s 5000 packs, which could be run in series for a 6S. Run a 1700-1800 KV, 29 mm motor

Has anyone tried to do this?
    Comments or suggestions?

    Larry,

I do know of one that exists. It was a minisprint doubled. Runs very good. I think the owner is running 29mm motors each on 3S.

Your idea will work with a few changes. The current JAE 21 rigger was originally marketed as the 33FE. I am not sure if the original 21FE kits can still be purchased. I have an original 21FE rigger that was built somewhat on your ideas. The front sponsons widths need to be increased by roughly 50 percent. All else is pretty much doubled like you had mentioned. I am running dual TP 36mm motors at 2650 KV on 4S power. I also came up with the design that Tyle spoke of using the Mini Sprint platform. Currently it is running 28mm 3900 KV motors with 60-amp controllers that have no cooling with no issues. Both are very fun boats. If you use the current 21FE Rigger platform. you will have much more internal room that I have in either of my twins. One suggestion that I would make if you decided to pursue this idea. The current platform has the motor mounted up close to the rear boom. I would suggest moving the motors aft to around 5 inches froward of the transom. Just my ideas. Either way would work.

Page 11 post 305. JAE 21 FE Twin. I built the boat for Keven Sheren. I think it ended up in Don Ferette's stable, then was sold here IIRC. I never saw the boat run.

Doug, maybe Tyler still has a couple videos of this boat and the Mini Sprint twin we built. I deleted them a couple weeks ago. Maybe he can still share them.

                  Thank you for the reply.
I was going to start with the JAE 26FE, the smaller version of the 33FE (Now called the 21 FE V2)
I have a 26 inch single rigger that I run on 6S, but struggle to get decent batteries that will fit. Instead of modding the Fiberglass / Carbon / Kevlar tub, I will just make a twin with enough room for 2 3s batteries in series feeding 2 motors.
On your suggestion to move the motor way back, what is the motovation?
I was thinking I may need to move things around a bit to get the CG to the original location of the Turn Fin.
