    Neu back plate screws

I have a Neu 1515 that has the back plate screws protruding. I have an ose jacket on it and now I have a problem with the mount. The mount needs to be right where the screws are, and since the screws are not flush with the can I either need to file out the mount for each screw, or find tapered screws and bevel the can so they will mount flush. Is this a normal problem? I`ve heard neu goes back and forth on beveled and button head screws.

Thats the case, some have round head, some grub style. Is it possible to drill a small recessed hole in the mount, the same diameter as the screw head?

I had the same problem on my rail mount for my Neu 1521 in my DF33. I used a round file to make an indent in four places where the screws were at on the inside of the mount.

On mine, I just took them out. I use thrust washers anyhow, so there really isn't a need for them. These were put in to cover the guys who don't use thrust washers and consequently push the endcaps off under load...

The cans were originally designed to be "pulled", not pushed...

Thanks guys, looks like recess holes are in order, I just wanted to check my options.

By chance does anyone know what thread size these screws are? I don`t feel comfortable leaving the screws out and would like to put taper headed screws so they will seat flush, and I won`t have to notch my motor mount.

Just talked to Alex at Neu, the screws are 2-56 size and can be replaced with set screws which he is sending so the can will be smooth for the mount.
