    Shorty Lipos

I am new to FE, what?s your take on shorty lipos. Do they perform the same as regular sized lipos given the same specs? (Mah, C rating, etc). They are more compact and weigh less, any cons for using in marine applications? Thank you!

General rule of thumb is the LiPo's targeted for car use (and their ratings) don't translate well to marine applications. I would argue the "shorty" hard packs would be even worse. There is a general assumption the "car guys" C ratings seem to be elevated for the sole purpose of making a sell.

It's recommended to stick with soft packs so you can see the visual cues the battery is giving i.e. swelling. They also provide a much better ability to gauge the temperature of the battery post run.
