    10XL, what to do??

I have a new unused 10XL that no one wants to buy. Now I'm also looking at options for it. I have two 3S lipo packs that I can use for it. What would you guys suggest, I do with it to acheive 45+mph runs? Any suggestions, please?

    I run a 10xl on 4s 1p in a 31" wild thing and it flys with the right prop, m447 47-48 mph. On 6s with a m442 in s DF 29 would be awsome.

Won't 6s be too much for the 10XL? Any tips on where to buy a Delta Force 29 with the stuffing tube and motor mount installed? I'm not very good at that (glass fibre work)...

What about the 10XL with a Hydra 120 ESC on 4s in a DF 26? Prop?

On 4s with a hydra you can run nearly any thing I would say. The problem will be keeping it on the water. I do not know how well a 26" hull would handle a x447/3 blader but it would be a blast finding out!

Yes I know you will all be saying what is he on, but I have run the wild Thing with the following....... 5000mha 4s 1p , 10 xl, 200 amp Hi Model ( cheap ) water cooled everything and a x447/3 cut back to 45mm with a little cup in it. Very fast indeed and temps came in at about 135 deg. Did not handle it very well though.

IMO 3S is certainly not enough for a 10XL
the minimum would be 4S on a 29", that's what I have on mine with a 8XL, a XL being too heavy for the 26"!

A 10XL is too much motor for 6S except for SAW applications in a very free-running boat. While some may use it for sport 6S, they would be better off with a 12XL or 14XL. Strange that many boatersseem to believe that the 240 LV Hydra is somehow bulletproof, believe me it is not. It is pretty well accepted that you should not run that controller over 4S if you expect to pull over 125/150 amps - and the 10XL on 6S will do that easily.

One of the problems is the cells, if they are not capable of supplying the current the motor draws, they will destroy the ESC. So while you may be able to get away with it for awhile with top quality cells, with cheaper cells you will burn up your ESC. Sell the motor on eBay and buy the correct one if you intend to run 6S. But the 10XL will run great on 4S with the right setup. Mine ran close to 50 mph in my MM, faster than a 7XL did.

Thanx for the great info Fluid. I'm actually looking for a speed-based set-up. What hydro-hull would suit the 10XL on 4S with what ESC for max speed on smooth water. I won't race, just for my own fun. I like the ease of programming the Hydra ESC's via PC. The Etti's myriad of beeps & rings drive me nuts!
