Hello, I have recently purchased a Swordfish X + 220A regulator to be inserted on a TFL Pursuit 6S lipo hull, I have several propellers, the smallest is a 36mm. I was looking at the TP Motor 4050 4Y 1570Kv. Could it be good in terms of current draws? Thanks.

With a 36mm prop the current draw is likely around 150A peak and maybe 120A continuous. As you go up in diameter the current draw will jump quickly to the 200-225A level.Tyler Garrard

I run the same ESC and same size TP (diff kv) on 4S with a 45mm prop in the same size hull and it pulls 180A continuous without skipping a beat.
Good combo.Comment

A 2350kv motor is closer to a SAW setup where you need a 300A+ controller or perfect for a 4 cell setup. 1200-1600kv is more typical for a 6S oval setup. You should be OK.Tyler Garrard

It’s no surprise that the OP burned up his ESCs, a motor KV of 2350 is suitable for 4S, not 6S. On 6S the motor is a SAW setup with potentially very high amp draw. A 1570 KV is a much better choice.

I run this motor in a DF Pirate 35" on 6s with an RCBB (Flycolor/Raider 150) esc on an M445. The boat will do a heat race and speeds in the 60 mph range. It is probably heading towards the limit of the esc. Previously with a T-180 v2 it ran 97 kph through the lasers, and we have only about 100M run up on our pond.NZMPBA 2013, 2016 Open Electric Champion. NZMPBA 2016 P Offshore Champion.

Hello, I finally managed to put everything together and after a bit of testing I think I have found a decent set-up.
I attach videos on YOUTUBE to see how it is going.
Cold engine and regulator temperatures, batteries around 40 ? C.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh3g7YNGva0Comment
