Just bought a Speedmaster small strut and rudder assembly, but not the flex yet. If I'm doing my math right, I have 1/4 brass tube and bushing slides into it, all nice! If I'm going to buy the recommended flex assembly, 187, with the prop shaft, the bushing cannot be used. Is this correct and will it work. Only for sport use.

You need the bushing as it is the correct size for the stub shaft. 1/4" tube is fine for the stuffing tube. The floating bushings also require grease, so grease regularly.NZMPBA 2013, 2016 Open Electric Champion. NZMPBA 2016 P Offshore Champion.

Thanks for the info, but still confused. If I use a.187 flex shaft with the 3/16 prop shaft, and the1/4 stuffing tube, which will allow me not to use a Teflon liner how is it the bushing can fit if the flex shaft and prop shaft are same size as the brass tube?Comment

Don't use the liner, just grease the shaft well. What tube are you using? K&S 1/4" tube is the correct size. OSE sells it.NZMPBA 2013, 2016 Open Electric Champion. NZMPBA 2016 P Offshore Champion.

The speedmaster floating bush is 7/32" od, which is the id of the 1/4" tube. I use them on a number of my boats, they fit.NZMPBA 2013, 2016 Open Electric Champion. NZMPBA 2016 P Offshore Champion.
