    Leopard motor help

    What would be the most powerful/fastest 4092 Leopard motor for a 44" Tunnel hull using a 300 amp ESC--I have been looking at the 930kv and 700kv--Am i looking at the correct KV area? Thank you for your Help.

    They make the same power. The rpm they spin at is different. You would base the kv on the rpm you plan to spin the prop.

        What voltage? 8s-10s? Application? Racing, straightline, or what? Need some context please.

            Easy to calculate
            3.8V per cell, 12 cells and 700rpm or 930 rpm per V.
            3.8*12*700=~31000rpm
            *930 = ~42000 rpm
            Subtract ~ 10% of the rpm for loss etc, and you are pretty close.

              Single motor setup = 10S or 12S battery.
              10S = 950kV motor.
              12S = 780kV motor.

                On 12S with a 44" tunnel and the weight of batteries a 4092 will be marginal for big straightaway speeds. That said stay low on KV's 800 or less and you have the leverage to turn the larger props needed to push the hull. JMO

                      Like mentioned, I would run a bigger can than a 4092 for a 44" anything. That's typically 56mm motor territory if you want to be fast.

                        I do not think there is a lower unit and adapter that will take a 56mm Electric motor. That is why i am asking about the 2 most powerful 40mm Leopards.

                          A K&B lower and .187 flex won't take much more than a 4092 motor. You could go with twin outboards and 4082's

                              The 930kv on 8s with an octura x450 should pull somewhere around 75 amps.

                              That would give good runtimes. Hopefully an x450 would be enough diameter for that boat.

                              The graupner k series props will pull less amps that the octuras. So maybe a k series 55mm is another prop you can try.
